- Highland Valley Copper
Logan Lake, BC Detailed structural, civil, and mechanical engineering services, including field assistance for the following in-plant projects:
-
Pebble Crusher Area Improvement Study to remove the existing 350 HP pebble crushing units and replace with larger 900 HP units. In addition a dust collection system would be installed. A New building was proposed to house the dust collection equipment. A new maintenance building was proposed which will be attached to the existing pebble crusher building and will be designed to allow the existing overhead crane to roll through. A new lube area for the new crusher lube units as well as lube storage was proposed. A new MCC building was also proposed which will be located over the new lube area.
-
Ball Mill Discharge Magnet Installation Detailed design of magnet support structure and removable hood and unique track mounted chute arrangement for the ball mills.
-
Moly Leach Plant Dryer Detailed design of new hot oil piping and supporting steel and access platforms for the new moly dryer and bucket elevator. Modifications were made to the existing screw conveyors and chuting.
-
Moly Flotation Cell Replacement The existing two banks of Denver flotation #100 (eight cells each) had reached the end of their useful life. It was decided to replace them with Outokumpu (OK) Tank Cells #10 (eight flotation cells in two banks). Our design approach is to make the changeover with minimal disruption to the production of Moly. The existing structural support steel was used and reinforced. The tank cells were covered with lids to contain the H2S gas. A manifold connected with duct work to a new scrubber. The cells will be supplied with NaHS, N2 and Co2. The two Conditioning Tanks upstream of the cells needed to be raised to accommodate gravity flow. Pump boxes (two) and pumps (four) were added to the floor level below the cells to pump concentrates to the thickeners.
-
Stacker Conveyor - Head Pulley Relocation The main mill feed conveyor’s head pulley was moved to accommodate increased belt speed
-
Corrosion Investigation of Concentrator Structural Steel Determination of remaining structural integrity in areas exposed to sulphide concentrates over long term.
- Scoping Study Review
Confidential Client A confidential review of a scoping study for an exploration property in Northern Europe. SDE's review, in conjunction with JDS Energy and Mining, focused on global concentrate refining and smelting availability, concentrate shipping from a remote land locked mine site, plus labour and infrastructure availability. Our input assisted the client to evaluate their ongoing participation in the project.
- Molybdenum Roaster and Emissions Project
Endako Mines Following on a feasibility study, (completed in late 2007), Sacré-Davey was retained by Endako Mines to complete the detailed engineering for modifications to roasting and off-gas treatment systems to match the proposed mine expansion at the Endako Mines division of Thompson Creek Metals. SDE’s component on the project was worth $20 million.
The initial study completed by SDE showed Endako Mines that replacement of key process equipment, would increase the recovery of entrained dust at the current or and expanded rates. To remove dust at even 1% higher at a consistent rate is a substantial return at then market for Mo.
SDE provided Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural and support design services to the project.
- Sherwood Copper
Kutcho Creek Mine, Deas Lake, BC SDE worked with Sherwood Copper and the rest of the Kutcho team to produce a comprehensive scoping study for the optimization and development of the new Kutcho Creek Mine.
SDE’s responsibilities included all onsite facilities including the mill building (from the Crusher to the Concentrate Load-out), offices, maintenance shops, stores, camp, water & waste water treatment, and transportation of tailings.SDE prepared flowsheets, mass balances and equipment layouts for the mill, together with sizing of key process equipment, including flotation cells, cyclones, pumps and filter process. SDE also participated in preparation of capital and operation cost estimates.
- Snowden Mining Group
Confidential Client Assistance with a preliminary economic assessment to determine electrical power requirements for a remote 25,000 tpd process plant. Power requirements included process plant ancillaries plus infrastructure. Determination of capital cost requirement of approximately $65 million for the base power plant plus critical stand-by units.
- MAX Molybdenum Mine view details
Roca Mines, north of Revelstoke, BC Phase 1: Structural review of the mill and crusher buildings, ongoing design updates and modifications in order to meet code and snow loads at the MAX site. These modifications will be completed after the building is re-erected at the MAX site. Phase 2: Sacré-Davey provided plant layout and structural engineering services for Roca’s MAX Moly project. Work included building refit, equipment foundations, platforms and complete mill structures for the 1000 TPD mine. Sacré-Davey also provided Roca with preliminary engineering for Phase 3 expansion.
- Cement Transload Terminal view details
Ferenco Industrial - For the Ashgrove Cement Company, Las Vegas, Nevada SDE provided civil and structural engineering services for this project.
