Project Description:

This Neptune Bulk Terminals facility improvement project required the installation of dry bulk ship unloading machinery, a network of inbound conveyors, a storage shed, and a network of outbound conveyors including a surge bin and a rail car load out system. A number of large dust collectors were also required to ensure that fugitive dust was captured.

Scope of Work:

As part of the engineering, procurement and construction team, Sacré-Davey assisted in this design build contract by taking the conceptual design through to final installation. Sacré-Davey’s scope included the detailed design of structures and select elements of the mechanical system such as the dust collector.

Project Solutions:

  • Structural analyses of foundation for the prefabricated steel storage building

  • Conveyor supports and transfer towers design

  • Steel and foundations design

  • Rail car loading steel structure and foundations

  • Dust collection towers and foundations design, including re-use of one transfer tower

Project Achievements:

  • Dust collection system.

  • Commissioning on schedule and operated to the owner specifications.
