Potash Handling Study

Project Description

Pacific Coast Terminals (PCT) requested Sacré-Davey to complete a high- level capital cost estimate to upgrade their existing facility to allow for receiving, storage and shipping of potash based on a previous conceptual design.

Scope of Work

Sacré-Davey prepared a capital cost estimate and developed preliminary architectural and structural drawing packages for the facility upgrade. Since the facility’s design concept was based on unverified work by others, for the purposes of providing PCT with an order of magnitude cost estimate, several changes were made by Sacré-Davey to the original design. These included: reconfiguration of the unloading pit with additional hopper and belt feeders, reconfiguration of the dust collection systems to suit additional conveyor transfers, modification of the conveyor motors, and expansion of the belt width and storage areas.
