Zn Load & Unload Project

Project Description:

Sacré-Davey provided full detailed engineering for a truck and a rail loading facility to receive, stockpile and ship zinc concentrate at Kinder Morgan’s terminal in North Vancouver. Sacré-Davey completed the design of two dust collection and control systems to be installed in separate storage sheds

Challenges:

  • Brownfield design and construction.

  • Reduction of dust throughout the building, specifically around the zinc conveyor unloading, movement and truck loading.

SOLUTIONS:

  • Structural analysis of existing building and foundation calculations.

  • Innovative dust collection point source analysis and external baghouse.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

  • Truck routing and dust collection within design specifications.

  • Project completed within budget and schedule.
